A relação do Burnout em profissionais de saúde e a segurança do paciente: uma revisão de escopo

O Burnout é uma síndrome de exaustão física e mental crônica, estando diretamente relacionada ao bem-estar de profissionais de saúde e à segurança do paciente. O objetivo desta revisão de escopo é mapear o que a literatura nacional e internacional diz a respeito do Burnout e seu impacto na segurança do paciente. Para sua realização, usou-se as diretrizes do PRISMA adaptado para Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Após triagem, 19 estudos atendiam aos critérios de inclusão. O Burnout tem impacto direto sobre a saúde do profissional, estando relacionado ao maior risco de doenças cardiovasculares, insônia, uso excessivo de álcool, depressão e redução da expectativa de vida. Além disso, ele pode reduzir a produtividade laboral, ao passo que se associa a um maior número de faltas e déficit de comprometimento. Como consequências, lista-se: atitudes errôneas quanto medicação e diagnóstico, não realização de uma prática segura, atendimentos de baixo profissionalismo e menor satisfação do paciente. À sumarização dos conhecimentos, este estudo corrobora com a hipótese de que o Burnout gera impactos negativos ao bem-estar geral do profissional de saúde, bem como à segurança do paciente e à qualidade do atendimento prestado.
