Escalas para mensurar radiodermatite aguda: vantagens e desvantagens

Avaliar e mensurar a radiodermatite é essencial para o gerenciamento das lesões e para a tomada de decisão de forma correta, baseada em evidências científicas. De modo geral, a radiodermatite é avaliada e graduada por escalas. Este artigo consiste em revisão narrativa da literatura e tem como objetivo descrever conceitos sobre radioterapia e radiodermatite, bem como apresentar as características dos instrumentos de medida disponíveis na literatura para graduar a radiodermatite. Um instrumento bem elaborado e minucioso pode proporcionar consenso da avaliação e continuidade do cuidado ao paciente, além de auxiliar na uniformização da linguagem para o estabelecimento de protocolos assistenciais e de pesquisa. Diante da elevada incidência de radiodermatite entre os pacientes submetidos à radioterapia e das limitações identificadas nos instrumentos de graduação presentes na literatura, fez-se necessária a elaboração de um instrumento que use critérios objetivos e precisos para mensurar a radiodermatite aguda, que inclua a avaliação dos possíveis sintomas relatados pelo paciente.
